MCP Project 25/52 – Crave

Like I mentioned yesterday, the MCP Project 52 prompt for this week is “Crave”. It’d be expected to photograph some kind of food, but I thought I’d stretch my creativity a little further than that...

haha kidding! Doug was not the subject of the "Crave" prompt (sorry dear). The lighting in this picture by Misha Media was an inspiration for how I wanted to capture my "Crave" shot.

Lately, I’ve been staying up later than usual (which is already pretty late, and hating myself in the morning), to read the Twilight saga. I also read it on the 10 minute bus ride, the 30 minute train ride, 20 minute car rides, and even the 30 seconds that I’m in an elevator! So other than my craving to read the books every second I get, the story itself has plenty of “crave” elements.  Fitting for the assignment, no?

I know I know, I am super late to jump on the bandwagon. I haven’t watched any of the movies yet either, but I plan on having a Twilight marathon movie party, even if it is way late haha. So if more people other than Marian show up, I’ll be sure to do themed décor/food/drinks and show you how it turns out J

And because it’s always interesting to see how people get their shots and it's a great way to learn from others, here’s my ghetto (but effective) setup.  Flashlight hanging from a drawer with wax paper over the light and me sitting in the dark in my bathroom. I didn't expect the reflection in the tile...pleasant surprise, as photography is sometimes. Very little post processing (aka Photoshop'ing) to both pictures.  It's all about the lighting so Michele tells me! Yes, it was creepy....as Doug said when he walked in wondering what the heck I was doing. But when Mia barged in, she starting reading right away hehe
